The Check⚲n application uses Google Sheets for storing attendance data. This provides several advantages:

  • Your data is stored in your own Google account, not on our servers
  • Google's enterprise-grade security protects your information
  • You maintain complete ownership and control of your data
  • You can revoke app access to your Google account at any time

3. Data Encryption

We implement the following encryption methods to protect your data:

  • QR Code Encryption: All QR codes generated by our application are encrypted using industry-standard encryption methods to prevent unauthorized scanning and data interception.
  • Data Transmission: All data transmitted between our app and Google's servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols.
  • Authentication Credentials: User credentials are never stored in plaintext and are protected using secure hashing algorithms.

4. Limited Data Collection

We follow the principle of data minimization, collecting only the information necessary to provide our service:

  • We only request the minimum Google account permissions needed for the app to function
  • We do not collect or store personal information beyond what's necessary for authentication
  • Attendance data remains in your Google Sheets and is not duplicated on our servers

5. Third-Party Access

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to external third parties. The only third-party with access to your data is Google, through their Google Sheets service which you explicitly authorize.

6. User Controls

We provide users with complete control over their data:

  • You can export your data from Google Sheets at any time
  • You can delete your data from Google Sheets at any time
  • You can revoke our application's access to your Google account through your Google Account settings

Additional security measures we implement include:

  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Implementation of the latest security updates
  • Protection against common web attacks
  • Secure authentication methods including OAuth 2.0
